LaToya is a native Washingtonian. She is the founder and CEO of Tsunami Hair Studio, LLC, located in Ward 7 of Washington DC. Latoya is very passionate about her career in the beauty, fashion, and cosmetology industry with over 13 years of experience. She holds memberships with Professional Beauty Association (PBA) and The National Cultural Beauty League (NBCL)

She is a skilled licensed educator of cosmetology. Her extensive educational experience expands throughout the industry. Latoya has assisted many students with accomplishing their goal of achieving and passing the cosmetology state board exam. Latoya believes you should never stop learning. Which she leads by example and has recently decided to pursue a doctorate degree with NBCL.

Latoya enjoys exercising her creative abilities with the art of hair by competing in National and local hair shows. She has won over 12 Bronner Brother Competitions throughout her career thus far. In addition to winning first place in 15 competitions to date. Her work has been published in major publications such as Black Hair Magazine. Her hair creations have been showcased most recently at DC Open Streets and The H Street Annual Festival.

As she continues to soar and accomplish her goals. She takes pride in supporting her community. LaToya coordinates and host various events monthly to uplift her community, Back to School Drives, Prom Makeover Giveaway, Feed the Homeless, Adopt a Family, and Christmas in Wonder Land just to name a few.

Latoya recently founded a NON-Profit, Tsunami School of Hair & Design, where she plans to continue motivating her students to push beyond their limitations and become Masters of their business and not just their craft.
